Japanese Iris, White Ilis, and Chinese Peony

ハナショウブ、白あやめとシャクヤクを活けましたI arrange Japanese Iris, White Iris, and Chinese Peony.

In May, the first thing that comes to mind is the iris, which is the symbol of the Boys’ Festival. I arranged such irises and peonies in Ikebana. Japanese irises and Chinese peonies are still buds. Both of them give off a mysterious charm that hides something in the buds. In such a mysterious space of buds, only the white iris blooms with cute and elegant flowers.
The Japanese iris leaves look straight and simple, but they are actually very mysterious. It looks brave like a sharp sword, and depending on the angle we look at it, it can also look like a gracefully curving bridge to another dimension.

五月に入るとまずは端午の節句の象徴のような菖蒲が思い起こされます。ハナショウブとシャクヤクを生け花に活けました。ハナショウブとシャクヤクはまだ蕾です。それらはともに、蕾の中に何かを秘めた神秘的な魅力を放っている感じです。その空間の中で、白あやめだけが、可愛らしいエレガントな花を咲かせています。
ハナショウブの葉は直線的でシンプルに見えますが、実のところは非常に不可思議な形だと思います。鋭い剣のように勇ましい姿に見えますし、見る角度によっては、異次元への優美な曲線を描いた架け橋のようにも見えます。
